Anyone want to suggest some books/audiobooks/programs for learning japanese?
i need something besides listening to anime shows and japanese music to learn…i’m more of a flash card type of learner….see, hear and repeat. also i’m a freshmen in high school with no japanese programs in my school or community.
any suggestions for learning japanese (please do not say rosetta stone because i’ve heard too many mixed reviews about that program) also no online programs that you have to pay for. also i don’t have much money.
i’m looking to learn how to read, write and speak it….and stick with the language so please help and don’t suggest only online programs

An excellent and free flashcard app you can use is called Anki:

You can use it to review the kana, kanji and Japanese vocabulary (preferably in the form of full Japanese sentences). I would suggest you get the guide “Master Japanese” to aid you in your Japanese learning: http://www.squidoo.com/learn-japanese-language-truth

Finally, remember to mix up your Japanese activities. You want to spend most of your time listening and reading(skimming) native Japanese media (that is genuinely interesting to you!) and a bit of time everyday (30 – 40 min.) reviewing vocabulary/symbols using Anki.
