There are many digital music distributors online but one of the most recent entrants to the digital distribution era is Microsoft with its Zune MP3 player and digital download service. Whilst these free sites allow you to obtain as much music as you want you will be risking your computer’s safety by exposing it to malware, adware, and other malicious software which all create problems on your computer.
A better option is to rip music from CD onto your MP3 player. CDs give you legitimate access to music so you won’t be at threat from malicious software when using them. However, this is still an expensive way to obtain music as CDs cost as much, if not more, than music from the marketplace. However, it is an easy process which we can look at here.
Firstly you have to put the CD of your choice into your PC and run it using any of the available media player software. Then you can click on the button which reads “rip” to begin transferring the music on the disc onto your PC. If you’re using Windows Media Player you’ll find that the music is automatically placed into the media player library. Then you can plug your MP3 player into your PC and select “synchronize” from the options on the media player. This automatically transfers the music on your PC onto your Zune music player.
If the synchronize feature doesn’t work properly it isn’t usually a problem as you can drag and drop the music files directly onto the Zune’s memory. Ensure that the files you copy onto the Zune are compatible formats such as MP3, and WMA.
Another option is to use subscription services to download music from. Services such as Napster provide unlimited music downloads for a monthly subscription fee. This allows you to get hold of all the music you could possibly want and listen to it on your portable media player. These are fantastic services that offer music at incredibly good value that gets better the more you download.
