BEGINNER SHEET MUSIC TERMS
is it too late to learn piano? how far will i be in 3 years?

Hiya. I play drums at the minute grade 5 – but when i go to uni (im 18 btw)because of the confined spaces in the flats, i cant fit my kit in or even an elctric kit and plus the noise would be a little unfair with me sharing with other people around me. Iv been keen to learn to play the piano for some time i have an 88 digitial piano already (passed down so never really been used – will this do for beginners?) I was wondering, i know how determined you have to be to play music and i have that but is it hard to get into piano? especially only being able to read drum sheets will i be able to adapt to reading piano fast or?
How far in terms of grade, will i be do you think in a few years of so?
i currently practice like for a few hours every other day and will do this same when learning piano. please help!

it is never too late to learn piano. I play piano and drums. Piano is easy if you understand theory, which you play drums so you should. Once you understand timing, it’s all a matter of learning the keys. You will be able to adapt to reading piano but already reading drums won’t help much. Remember, on drums there are generally only 5 “notes” to hit; on piano there are 88 which makes it a much more complicated staff. If you practice piano an hour a day you will notice a huge difference in one week I guarantee you. I know because that’s how my instructor taught me: she gave me a piece to practice and I had to bring it back to her in a week. Over that weeks time I improved sooo much at the piece and I only practiced 20 minutes a day! I hope this helps!
