How to turn music staffs into tablature on the bass guitar?

I play the electric bass and I just got a book that has the sheet music to a lot of bass fills and lines. I need the bass tabs to be able to play the music and I do not have them. I tried to convert the music to tabs on my own, but it was near impossible. Is there a program on the internet that will let me type in the notes on the staff and turn it into tablature ofr the bass guitar?

Yes, programs like Cubase will do this, but be careful….
Most notes on the bass can be found in at least two places.
For example bottom A is either the 3rd string open, or the 4th string 5th fret.
If you just convert notation to tab, you may end up always being given the lowest place to find each note, and that might see you jumping about the neck when there’s no need.

Please take it from me that although learning to read music is tough, because it doesn’t seem as intuitive as tab, it does become something you can read faster than tab, with no effort. More than that you can choose where on the neck you play the bass without changing the music at all! Try THAT with tab!

You wouldn’t have tab for a flute or a piano – you don’t NEED it for bass.
